This endangered fan-leaved palm with stiff or drooping leaf segments is native to the islands of Lanai and Maui in the Hawaiian Islands. Its undulate medium-green leaves are 3 ft. wide and its infructescences, which are about as long as the petioles of its leaves, are laden with 1 inch long black fruits.
