Very showy flowering tree to 30′. Foliage pinnate, coarsely leaved, new growth limp, light purple; flowers small, 4-petaled, golden yellow with long stamens, held in
loose clusters sometimes on the trunk itself; fruit an 8″ long greenish-white pod with up to 7 seeds. Rare in cultivation.
Syn: S. thaipingensis.
