This interesting Caribbean Zamia occurs along a rocky seashore on a small Cay off the island of Abaco, Bahamas. In habitat, it grows along coastal scrub vegetation, mostly in full sun. It has very broad, stiff leaflets making it resemble Zamia lucayana from Long Island (Bahamas). However, the leaflets are shorter in this taxon making them appear even wider. In cultivation in Florida, this taxon has proved to grow very well in full sun or bright shade.
