Bismarckia nobilis

This majestic palm, with its large canopy and heights reaching to 40 ft. in cultivation, is native to Madagascar. It has a solitary, gray/tan trunk with distinct silver-blue leaves and a split-leaf base, which creates an attractive pattern. This palm is dioecious, requiring separate female and male plants to produce viable fruit.  Although it may be slow to start, once established, it can quickly become a moderate grower as it matures.
